Honduras celebrated its independence from Spain a 15th of September of 1821. It has been 202 years since this event. For the Honduran people, September is a month of celebration, feasts, fireworks, and parades. At Discovery School we began this month of celebration with the Dia de la Bandera (Flag Day). On September 13th, the students and staff celebrated the Independence Day with a Honduran traditional breakfast in each class and then continued their day with lots of fun traditional games. Before finishing a spectacular day, the students closed this big celebration day with a final dance, a song performed by the 5th graders with the melodica and a song by the Jazz Wolves.
