Secondary

Discovery School provides a rich educational program and a supportive environment for the students. Small class sizes, cooperative learning settings and an international qualified staff, provide the best conditions for the students to learn. Middle school is from grades 6-8 and high school is from grades 9-12.

In experiential learning, students partake in extended educational field trips in which they apply the content and skills learned in the classroom in a real-life setting.

In secondary, Project Based Learning (PBL) allow the students to do research, explore the concepts, work in teams and do collaborative work. Technology is integrated in each classroom.

We offer the Advanced Placement Program, where students take part in a college-level academic experience that will challenge and inspire them, and prepare them for college and beyond, providing them with College and Career Readiness (CCR) as specified in the Common Core Standards.

Students can graduate with three different diplomas:

-Diploma en Bachillerato Internacional en Ciencias y Humanidades extended by the Honduran Ministry of Education.

-High School Diploma extended by the U.S. Government.

-Advanced Placement International Diploma: The AP International Diploma (APID) is a globally recognized certificate awarded to students who display exceptional achievement across a variety of disciplines. Available to international students attending secondary schools outside the U.S. and to U.S. high school students applying to universities outside the country. The APID certifies outstanding academic excellence with a global perspective, but it is not a substitute for a high school diploma.
