Message from the head of school
Welcome to Discovery School, the Home of the Wolves!
Greetings and welcome to the website of Discovery School (DS). It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to learn more about our school. If you are coming to this page as a prospective or as a returning family, I would like to emphasize our commitment to creating an environment of academic excellence, exceptional care, and capacity building. As a professional community of educators, we strive to provide multiple opportunities to develop student skills, character, talents, and passions through a variety of learning experiences. If you are part of our DS community, we hope to continue to provide you with a wealth of information that will motivate you to stay connected and informed through our communication channels, such as our social media channels, ALMA, Discovery PTO (DPTO), other sections of the DS website, and more.
Established in 1993, our school was founded to provide an alternative educational environment in Honduras. Our philosophy is that learning is a process of discovery. Situated on a secure campus located in Zona Molinón, we offer robust academic and extracurricular programs in a nurturing, student-centered environment. We serve the local, diplomatic, and multinational business communities. Looking within and beyond Honduras, we benchmark our programs, faculty, facilities, and results against the finest international schools in the region.
DS is a close-knit school community committed to our vision of academic excellence, global awareness, and empowering well-rounded individuals who are educated for success in life. Our highly-qualified, multi-national faculty strives to realize this vision daily by challenging students intellectually while supporting their academic and physical, social, and emotional well-being. Working in partnership with parents, DS also encourages students to develop an appreciation for and understanding of the unique and diverse culture of Honduras as well as to celebrate the diversity of the more than 22 nationalities on campus. Tomorrow's diplomatic, business, educational, and scientific leaders are enrolled in our school today. We hope to include your daughters and sons.
If you are not yet a member of our community, please take the time to find out more about us by exploring this website or by talking with some of our stakeholders. Better still, please contact our Admissions Manager, Ms. Gaby Chávez (firstname.lastname@example.org), and arrange a campus tour. We are very proud of our school and would love to have you learn more about us and what we have to offer you and your family.
Mr. Bradley McClain
Head of School
