Grade 5 Students Experience Sustainable Farming at Pyflor

Discovery School’s Grade 5 students had a hands-on learning experience at Pyflor, where they discovered how plants grow in a unique and sustainable way.

During their visit, students planted over 500 seeds and learned about hydroponics and aquaponics—modern farming techniques that don’t rely on traditional soil but instead use water and other natural systems to help plants grow. As they explored Pyflor’s greenhouses, they saw how vegetables and herbs are cultivated using these methods and gained a deeper understanding of the technology behind them.

The experience didn’t end with learning; it also included a delicious and healthy lunch made with fresh ingredients grown right at Pyflor. This farm-to-table meal showed students the direct connection between sustainable agriculture and the food on their plates.
