The Elementary school encompasses Pre-Kindergarten (4-5 year-old) through grade 5 (10-11 years-old).  Each classroom is self-contained, meaning that the classroom teacher is responsible for a single group of children for the entire year.  The classroom teacher is responsible for teaching math, science, social studies, and language arts (reading, writing, spelling, grammar).  Students go to specialist teachers in the areas of physical education, art, music, computer, and library.  Students in grades 1-5 also go to Spanish class every day.

The Primary Program is designed to provide students with a sound foundation for future learning.  We recognize the importance of the school and the family working together.  Children in this age-range gain knowledge in ways that are very different from the ways older children learn.  Younger children learn best through direct sensory experiences with the world and not through formal academic processes.  Childhood is also a time to build self-esteem and a love of learning - the basis of future success.  Children seek out the experiences that they need to nourish these developing mental abilities, which include problem solving skills and the use of proper English language.

The staff maintains a high standard of academic excellence.  Through integrating the curriculum, our students learn how to learn using collaboration, discovery, inquiry and hand-on experiences.  Discovery creates an environment where children learn to live and work harmoniously together.  Social growth along with intellectual growth is nurtured in all of our students
